Description

This gorgeous beauty originates from the famed Number 8 mine, located in Eureka County, Nevada and was handcrafted here in our shop in Ohio. This mine was discovered in the early 1900s during copper mining operations and quickly gained recognition for its exceptional quality turquoise. The mine no longer produces turquoise but continues to be operational and focuses on gold extraction. This means no new material will be extracted, leaving a limited supply for use in jewelry design.

The distinctive matrix patterns in Number 8 turquoise are a result of the surrounding host rock interacting with the mineral compounds during its formation. The presence of iron and zinc contributes to its unique coloration, ranging from light blue to green with golden or reddish-brown matrix patterns.

Number 8 turquoise is a highly sought-after gemstone from Eureka County, Nevada. It is known for its stunning blue-green hues and matrix patterns that resemble spiderwebs or watercolor paintings. This unique variety of turquoise is a beautiful example of what beautiful pieces of art that nature can produce.
